The San Juan Islands Collection

Capturing the beauty and mystery of the world around us is both exciting and challenging as there is so little that really endures from generation to generation.
I spent almost a year in the San Juan's, camera at hand and eyes open. Very seldom was a day spent looking for the picture but was spent being ready for the picture.
I try to capture the beauty I see around me and transform that image to paper, I want you, the viewer to see not only what I saw, but what probably will never be seen the same again, and I want you to be able to explore the scene and every time you revisit this book to find something new in the detail that you didn't see before.
Black & White or Color? That is generally a matter of taste, but there are times when it has to bee one or the other to achieve the desired effect. When I shoot for B&W or convert a color image I do NOT click grey-scale. Each image is adjusted by increasing and decreasing color levels while viewing as a B&W image. Then each image has areas dodged (lightened) and burned (darkened)
This book has most images as both color and B&W, it's for you, the viewer to explore both genres and decided what each holds for you.
